Heathcote Home

A large, modern family home combining the best of old with new.

Following the Global Financial Crises, there was a distinct lack of new homes for sale in Auckland’s established suburbs. When this large site on Heathcote Road, situated just 1km from Milford beach, became available, we jumped at the chance to get in at the bottom of the market and develop a spacious family home in this popular beachside suburb.

On the existing site stood a crumbling plaster-clad house, which was well past its prime. It did, however, boast fantastic positioning and sunlight. Rather than knocking the house down and starting from scratch, we decided to redevelop it, combining some of the original elements with new design and quality construction to create a modern five-bedroom home.

Early in the build phase, the property was purchased “off the plans” and the owner requested some changes to the design and finishing, as well as the inclusion of a large heated lap pool.Knowing how costly and disruptive it can be to make changes midway through a project, we worked hand-in-hand with the owner to make sure their needs were met while minimising any inefficiencies.

The owner was extremely happy with the final product and was also appreciative of our efforts to deliver a customised home, without any major disruption to the budget or timeline.
