At just 100m from the ocean, enviably set between Auckland’s Milford and Takapuna beaches, with 180-degree ocean views and established landscaping — we knew that it would take a very special home to live up to this unrivalled location.

When we acquired this impressive site it was occupied by a monolithic early-90s plaster home, suffering from obvious water egress issues. Seeing past the grim exterior, we decided to keep parts of the existing house’s slab in order to maintain the existing use rights.

Our vision was to combine the old with the new, taking full advantage of the site’s potential to create a bright, modern family home that would compliment the beachside lifestyle. Redevelopments of this nature are generally more complex than a brand new build, but we knew it would result in a final product that was well worth the extra effort.

The finished product is thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished, bringing a classic “Hamptons” aesthetic through clean lines and warm, airy hues.
